Abstract:
The double crosslinking core-shell polyacrylate emulsion was synthesized by pre-emulsified and semi-continuous seeded emulsion polymerization with diacetone acrylamide(DAAM), polyfunctional acrylate monomer, butyl acrylate(BA), methyl methacrylate (MMA) and vinylidene carbonate (VV10) as monomers. Then, the single crosslinking (DAAM-ADH) core-shell polyacrylate emulsion was prepared for making convenient comparison with the former results. The particle size and its distribution, water resistance, mechanical property, glass transition temperature, gloss of the two kinds of latex films were investigated respectively. The result showed that particle size of aqueous ambient of the double crosslinking core-shell polyacrylate emulsion, modified by ethoxypentaerythritol tetraacrylate (DO5-PETA) and dipentaerythritol hexa (DPHA), became smaller and its particle size distribution (PSD) got narrower. The better water resistance, mechanical property and gloss proved that there would be wide applications for the double crosslinking core-shell polyacrylate.
