    Research Progress on Degradation of PAHs by Immobilized Microorganisms

    • Man-made pollution sources of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) include chemical industry, transportation, daily life, garbage incineration, etc. It is distributed in the atmosphere, water, vegetation, and soil. It can enter the human body through food, drinking water, breath, skin, etc., and is harmful to human health. At present, PAHs degradation technologies include physical, chemical and biological methods. Microbial PAHs degradation technology has become the mainstream technology in the industry due to its high efficiency, low cost, and no secondary pollution. Microbial immobilization methods can be divided into adsorption, covalent bonding, cross-linking, embedding and other methods. The loaded microorganisms can effectively degrade PAHs. The development prospects are very broad. According to their flora, they can be divided into single strains and flora. The degradability of the chemical flora to PAHs is better. This review provides new research ideas and directions for microbial degradation of PAHs.
