Satisfaction Evaluation on Greenway Recreational Environment Based on Modified Importance-Performance Model

As the urbanization process accelerates, improving greenway recreational environment is important to make urban environmental healthier and meet the needs of people. Researches stay in the pattern of users' behavior and evaluation of greenway environment, but there are few studies on the greenway recreational environment and satisfaction evaluation. Importance-performance analysis (IPA) method was modified and questionnaires and field interviews were made, three urban greenways in Shanghai were used as research objects to evaluate satisfaction of greenway recreational environment in the overall and different age groups, and diagnose improvement priority of greenway recreational environment. The research shows that users are satisfied with the "greenway environment" in Shanghai, and they are not satisfied with the "greenway facilities", "service management" and "safety and convenience". The urgent need for improvement indicators are toilet, rest facilities, blind spots, fitness, facility. The age is significantly related to the perception of "resting facilities" and "toilet" and the expectations of "fitness facilities" and "toilet". Relevant indicators belong to "greenway facilities" and "management services". The study proposes a management strategy to improve the greenway recreational environment according to the needs and preferences of people of different ages.
